Performers Parent Meeting October 1st 2011

1. Time requirements: Classroom time is strictly learning technique.  Rehearsals are creating dances based on learned techniques.  Dance is a unique art form where we have to be together in order to practice.  The Performer’s dance activities is a participatory activity where all of the team needs to be present for the Performers to be successful.  Example: 2 hours practice got 1 minute of unclean, little technical difficulty completed. 
2. Friday rehearsals are necessary for now in order to create new dance pieces for the year.  If the Friday rehearsals are too much, please talk with Ms. Rachel and she can pull the student from the dance.
3. Saturday classes are very necessary in order to get training from a highly respected and phenomenal teacher.
4. Eliza and Ms. Rachel are doing their best to reduce the amount time spent in rehearsals.
5. Kim will email nutrition paperwork from the Jump Start Nutrition class.
6. A potential schedule for Friday rehearsals will be emailed out and available online.
7. All information will be listed on the website.
8. Expect email 10/1/11 evening about fund raisers.
9. Eliza needs a committee to help with various tasks dealing with Performers and Happenstance. Examples: Technical help, setting up and tearing down sets and seats, etc.
